Within just one week, they completed a full laser scan of the seven-level building and accelerated the production of a 3D model tailored to the design team’s needs. The first task for AJ Digital was to use state-of-the-art Leica RTC360 laser scanners, to conduct a comprehensive survey across seven levels of the Newgate building. This was completed in just one week, delivering highly accurate data critical for the next stages of the project.
AJ Digital then produced a full 3D model of the architectural and structural elements of the building using Revit software. This model served as the foundation for Stage 4 of the design programme and was specifically structured for seamless adoption by the design team.
Employing tools like Navisworks, Solibri, and BIM Collab, AJ Digital then performed design clash detection workshops to integrate MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing) designs and resolve potential issues before construction began. This ensured they could support the project team by collecting and embedding asset data into the models, ensuring the building’s future management needs were met.
