What is information management?

Without the proper flow of information, construction sites would grind to a halt, and operating an asset would be impossible. With this in mind, we seek to demystify information management, and encourage our customers and their partners to take ownership of the process with our support.

What is a common data environment?

BIM standards specify that information should be managed using a Common Data Environment. In simple terms, this means that all information flows through one platform, and is accessible to all parties that need it, when they need it, but only when it is approved for their use.

Given the above, it is crucial that any Common Data Environment is set up based on a sound process, and consistently and properly managed to ensure this process is upheld.

Information management also includes the flow of asset information from construction, through handover and into operation.

What is COBie?

COBie stands for Construction Operations Building Information Exchange, and is an asset data structure commonly used on BIM projects in the UK. Think of it as a suitcase to carry asset data from construction into operation.

As this structure is based on a standard, it is important that the information is validated as it is collected. Asset data must also be verified to confirm it’s a true representation of the as-installed asset on site.

We have created out of the box solutions that can be implemented quickly on your projects; however, we can also create bespoke solutions should your business already have some process in place.

We offer:

  • Project specific model auditing, tailored to your programme and requirements
  • Interactive dashboards and insights, to give you a clear understanding of performance and any bottlenecks
  • Full audit reporting, for stage completion
