What is 3D Design coordination?

3D modelling is now commonplace within design and construction, and with the 3D model being an accurate representation of the design, this creates an opportunity for enhanced insights into design issues and supplier performance. 3D design coordination consists of two elements; clash avoidance and clash detection.

What is Clash Avoidance?

Clash avoidance is the process of producing a design against the context of the other design information, to avoid clashes in the first instance.

What is clash detection?

Clash detection is carried out using software which detects clashes between separate models, elements, or groups of elements within a model. This process generates vast swathes of results, which we sort and report back.

Our Approach:

We work with our customers to understand the design and construction programmes for their schemes, and tie design issues back to these schedules. This is vital as it provides context for the issues and ensures that the right issues are presented and resolved at the right time, meaning that coordinated information flows to the construction site.

We have created an out of the box process for 3D design coordination that can be implemented quickly on your projects; however, we can also create bespoke processes should your business already have some in place.

WE OFFER:

  • Project Specific Clash Detection, tailored to your Programme
  • Interactive Dashboards and Insights, to give you a clear understanding of performance and bottlenecks
  • Full Issue Reporting, for stage completion
